Dr. Nathie Marbury (January 20, 1944–April 15, 2013) was a pioneering disability rights activist. Dr. Marbury was the the first Black deaf woman to enter the National Leadership Training Program for the Deaf at California State University, Northridge. She also was the first Black deaf woman instructor at the Kendall Demonstration Elementary School for the Deaf (1978-1986). Marbury was also the first Black deaf woman to serve on the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) board.
