Toni Morrison (born Chloe Wofford) (February 18, 1931-August 5, 2019) was an African-American novelist, essayist, and educator. In 1988, Morrison won the Pulizter Prize and the American Book Award for her critically acclaimed novel, "Beloved". In 1993, she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
